VBS - Jezus-eik

The Jezus-Eik municipal primary school was about to undergo an exciting transformation. The school was going to renovate and expand its old buildings to accommodate the growing number of students. Symobo won the tender and was able to realize this ambitious project. The classrooms could not remain in use during the renovations, which is why the entire school had to move to a temporary modular solution.

In addition to installing its own modular units, which were reused from a previous school project, Symobo also coordinated the relocation of existing container classes that were previously purchased by the Katholieke Scholengroep Druivenstreek VZW. This collaboration made it possible to design an entire “container school” on an adjacent site of the municipality. Finally, Symobo also installs sanitary modules at the school, specially designed for small children.

Project features:

• Rapid implementation of container classes: To minimize the impact on the school, we quickly set up container classes on an adjacent site. This allowed classes to continue while renovations were underway.
• Efficient coordination: Symobo closely coordinated all aspects of the project, from planning to execution, to ensure that the renovations went as smoothly as possible and were completed within the specified timeframe.
• Fire safety and EPB standards: The building fully complies with the applicable fire safety standards and EPB (Energy Performance and Indoor Climate) standards, ensuring a safe and sustainable environment.
• Heat pump for a good indoor climate: The building is equipped with a heat pump, which ensures an optimal indoor climate and contributes to energy efficiency and comfort for users.

Project impact:

Through our thoughtful approach, we were able to minimize disruption for students, allowing them to maintain a stable and consistent learning environment during the renovations. Because Symobo took control of the entire project, it also relieved the school board, allowing them to focus on the renovation.
