The Municipality of Kasterlee was looking for a semi-temporary solution to their childcare shortage. Symobo built this after-school care entirely from renovated units.
Due to recent changes, municipal childcare had to look for a new home. In the end, a new building was chosen, but of course, until it is finished, there had to be an alternative. Symobo won the tender because of our choice to tender with renovated units and our circular way of building.
We built this childcare out of 19 different units. 18 of them have already been used in other projects in the past. Symobo stripped the old units down to the frame and then rebuilt them with the new function in mind.
This project in a nutshell:
- A building with an area of more than 324 square metres
- 1 storey
- 2 Sanitary rooms
- 1 large play area
- Rest room with staff kitchen
- BEN isolated
- LED lighting throughout the building
- High-performance ventilation system assisted by heating with heat pumps for a healthy indoor climate.
- Shutters
- extension fence
